How far out should I schedule?

If you are wanting to schedule you seaplane rating, we suggest that you contact us at least 2-3 weeks in advance.  However, scheduling for the months of January through May, we suggest 6-8 weeks in advance.  You can make your reservation in the course by contacting the office between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or via email.  We will need your name, phone number, email address, and credit card information to secure your position in the course with a deposit.

If you are scheduling a dual flight or some refresher flying, we can typically accommodate with short notice. We do recommend contacting us for availability at least 24 hours in advance, but we'll do our best to get you flying if you're a walk-in.

What do I need to bring?

  1. U.S. Pilot Certificate (credit card style or temporary airman certificate).
  2. Current, valid FAA or Military medical, or your Basic Med documentation,      which is the Certificate of Completion and a valid US Drivers’ License.
  3. Valid Passport.  Your passport must match the Nationality listed on your Pilot Certificate.  If it does not match, you must visit a FSDO to have it changed. If you do not have a passport you are required to bring a valid US Driver's License.
  4. IACRA registration information: FTN number, username and password.
  5. Logbook if you keep one.
  6. Course guide.

I'm a foreign pilot, what do I need to do or bring?

New TSA and FAA policies affecting foreign pilots training in the US were implemented after September 11, 2001. A letter of verification from the FAA is now required for pilots holding a US certificate based on their foreign and for pilots seeking a foreign license conversion.  This process takes 45-90 days and the letter is only valid for six months.  The verification letter can be emailed or faxed to the requested FSDO or to the training facility designated by the pilot.  The letter of verification MUST verify your medical.   If it does not, you must obtain an FAA medical prior to the ASES rating or license conversion.  Foreign pilots seeking the ASES rating must also meet the foreign pilot flight requirement hours.

What is your cancellation policy?

For the ASES Course we require 7 days cancellation notice prior to your scheduled reservation, in order to receive your deposit back.  Refunds are processed less 6%.

Do I need to bring my own headset?

No, it is not required we have headsets available for your training. If you will be flying in the Super Cub or the Maule, you can use your own headset if you wish.
